Today, easyGDS officially becomes altovo. If you're a client, partner, or someone who's followed what we've been building, this post explains what changed, what didn't, and why.
Why we changed the name
When we started in 2021, the name made sense. easyGDS described exactly what we did: connect airlines and travel agencies through Global Distribution System technology. Simple, specific, accurate.
Over the following four years, the platform grew in a different direction. Airlines came to us not just for GDS connectivity, but for full white-label holiday booking platforms. Retailers came to us to power loyalty travel redemption for their customers. Businesses came to us to manage their corporate travel programmes. Travel agencies came to us for dynamic packaging, revenue tools, and a platform that put their brand, not ours, front and centre.
By the time we sat down to think about the rebrand, easyGDS had been a misnomer for a while. The platform does considerably more than GDS distribution, and serves considerably more than just airlines and travel agents. The name had stopped describing what we actually are.
altovo does. The name comes from altitude — the view from above, seeing more, moving further. That's what the platform gives our clients: a higher level of control over how they sell, price, and grow.
What altovo does today
The platform now covers four customer segments:
Customers include Etihad Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines, AirBorneo and Bonuslink, alongside more than 20 travel agencies across our network.
What stays the same
Everything you rely on. The platform, the team, the customer agreements, and the product roadmap are unchanged. easyGDS domains, email addresses and customer contact points will migrate to altovo equivalents over the coming months — we'll communicate those changes directly with every client before they happen.
The technical infrastructure, integrations, and service levels are unchanged. If you're connected to Amadeus, Sabre or Travelport through us today, that continues exactly as it is. If you have a support contact, they're still your support contact.
What's coming next
The rebrand coincides with an expansion of our product roadmap. We're moving faster on four areas: revenue optimisation tools for airlines and agents, supplier connectivity beyond traditional GDS networks, B2B agent portal upgrades for multi-location agencies, and deeper integrations with payment, finance and marketing platforms.
We'll be sharing more detail on each of these over the coming months. If you want to be part of shaping the roadmap, reach out.
A note to our clients
If you're a client reading this: thank you. You trusted us when we were a smaller, simpler product. That trust is what let us build everything we've built since. altovo is the direct result of the problems you brought to us and the ambition you had for what travel technology could look like.
The name changes today. Everything else we owe you stays exactly where it is.
"GDS is where we started, but it is not what we do today. We now run airline travel platforms, loyalty solutions for retailers, and corporate travel management. The altovo brand reflects that breadth."
